Effect of hot working process on properties of TA11 titanium alloy bars

TA11 titanium alloy is near titanium alloy with a high content of aluminum, the nominal composition is Ti-8Al-1Mo-1V, it has the advantages of high strength, excellent thermal stability and creep resistance, is a long-term use of titanium alloy materials at 450~500 DEG [1,2], is often used in the 1~3 engine compressor rotor blade the production. The Al content of the alloy is especially high, the forging resistance is poor, and the processing difficulty is very large. In the process of industrial production, the structure of the bar is not uniform, the level of the flaw detection is high, and the creep performance is not up to standard. 2 test materials and methods

2.1 test selection

The experiment selects TA11 material as the three vacuum consumable arc melting ingot produced by Baoji titanium industry Limited by Share Ltd, the specification is 700mm, the weight of ingot is 3T. Table 1 chemical composition of ingot head and bottom......

2.2 test methods

The ingot is made of 2500t and 3150T free forging equipment, and the total deformation of the single phase is not less than that in the single phase......

3 results and analysis

3.1 microstructure

Respectively with 150mm rolling billet and the diameter of 120mm precision forging machine forging billet samples, the microstructures are shown in figure......

3.2 mechanical properties

The samples obtained by two kinds of hot working processes were tested by the same heat treatment system, and the mechanical properties were tested at room temperature and high temperature. The results were shown in table 2......

3.3 test results

The TA11 titanium alloy bars obtained by two kinds of heat treatment methods are all in accordance with the GJB494-88 standard and the water immersion method is used for ultrasonic flaw detection. The results are listed in table 3......

4 Conclusion
