Effect of hot working conditions on fatigue strength of Ti-6Al-4V alloy

In order to meet the requirements of lightweight and durability, it is increasingly important to improve the fatigue strength of titanium alloy for aircraft. The fatigue strength of Ti-6Al-4V alloy not only affects the strength and ductility of the alloy, but also affects the microstructure and texture. The literature that has alpha beta phase and two-phase Ti-6Al-4V alloy, the fatigue fracture in the early phase of alpha (0001) surface, the surface to the shaft fatigue at 25 degrees to 55 degrees this large range concentration, lead to decrease fatigue strength. In addition, the texture changes with the change of the temperature range of the hot work, and the texture can be reduced by thermal processing in the small temperature range, as shown in figure 1.


5 Conclusion

In this paper, the difference of the hot working process of Ti-6Al-4V alloy rod is analyzed, and the following conclusions are drawn:
